As you may probably already know, gambling online is illegal in the United-States. So if you are trying to pass a transaction on your credit card from the United-States, most of the time, the transaction will be declined.

This is happening because the processors (in this case Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) do not allow and block these transactions by law.

You cannot get in any kind of trouble for playing at a online casino because it is the responsibility of the online casino and the processors (MasterCard in this case) to prevent US citizens from being able to place wagers on online casinos. This is why your transactions keep on getting refused.

For this same reason, many online casino operate from offshore destinations such as Curacao, Panama, Costa Rica, and so on. It is also the reason why Microgaming, who is the leading online casinos software provider, stopped accepting any and all US players from being able to place wagers at the online casinos powered by them.

This was passed back in 2006 by President George W Bush and no reconsideration of abolishing this law has been made. Once more, you are in no danger of getting any kind of trouble with the law by playing at online casinos. The online casinos and processors are the ones that can get prosecutions. Take Bodog for example, they were processing payments from US citizens and got shutdown by the US government.

Sorry if I got the wrong message passed on to you or made you panic in any way!

Cheers mate!

Actually, It is easier to deposit at online casinos using visa, mastercard, and AMEX since the passage of the the law that prohibits payments to and from online gaming webistes.

However, a handful of casinos allow u.s players to deposit via mastercard or AMEX. But most process Visa without issue. With the shut down of Quicktender months ago, it is getting more difficult to deposit and as a member of the Bankeronline.com forum I can tell you that there has been a recent "buzz" in that forum about due diligence and identifying and stopping income payments that represent funds from "online gaming" and due diligence in regard to customer accounts that are receiving "wires" outside the "norm" for that customers account and in amounts above $3000.00. Frequent Wires and wires of $3000.00 and up  are "red flagged". And due to banks being "Audited" for enforcement of the UIGEA rules and regulation in the past year, the banks are beginning to put procedures in place to enforce the law.

The only safe payment now is Check, IMO. Because they have no means of determing what the "payment amount" represents(i.e. gambling winnings, investment proceeds and the like) as they are not coded as ACH, EFT and Wire payments are.  Banks have already told the Fed. Gov and the Federal Reserve that they have no means of applying the regulations under ULIGEA when it comes to checks.
