Hey guys,

 

I was trying to join a online casino the other day and because I was from New Jersey, it didn't allow me to join it. I also heard from some friends that some states don't allow its residents to play at online casinos.

So my question is, which US states do not allow its residents to play at online casinos ?

Well it is not really illegal for any US player to play at a online casino but something that is illegal is for those online casino to place their infrastructures or HQs in certain US states.

 

This doesn't mean that a US player will get rejected from an online casino.

 

Here are the states where online casinos are illegal: Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wisconsin.

What is stated above is partially true. It is true that in those states, the infrastructures cannot be present which explains why most online casinos are located in Curacao, Panama, Kahnawake, and so on.

However, it is illegal for all residents of those states to play at any online casinos. Even if the online casino accepts US players, any player that subscribe from the above states will not be able to complete the registration.
