How To Play Baccarat: Basic Tips

Most people will always tell you to bet on the Banker when playing Baccarat because it is slightly more favorable than betting on the Player. So at a Baccarat table, continuously place bets on the Banker. I recommend using a scorecard to keep track of all the probabilities that took place.

People always place bets on the Banker because he has a bit more chances to win than the Player. For that reason, the house takes 5% commission (depending on the online casino) on all Banker wagers that are winning ones. Even with house’s commission, the house edge is still lower because the Banker’s wager is at 1.06% while the Player’s wager is at 1.24%. So mathematically, you should always bet on the Banker because he has the best odds of winning. However, some Baccarat players do not agree with this statement.

Their theory is that if you always bet on the Banker, the whole game of Baccarat will become very boring after a few hours of playing it. The whole gambling beauty of Baccarat will be lost because of a small probability difference. People tend to forget that in gambling there is also the “fun factor”.

Most online casinos provide players with a scorecard to keep track of the number of Banker and Players wins. Many Baccarat players believe that they will be able to predict the outcome of cards by keeping track of the pattern of Banker and Player wins. I personally find this strategy a waste of time because statistically speaking, it is impossible to predict the outcome of a well randomized shoe.

But to add to the excitement, I recommend using a scorecard. Remember that there is a certain “fun factor” in gambling.
