Baccarat is a gambling game played throughout all casinos worldwide. It is basically a game in which players bet on 3 main results: Banker, Player or a Tie. Generally ties aren’t offered in most casinos because they aren’t worthwhile.

The type of Baccarat that is discussed here is actually just one form of it known as Punto Banco, which is a for a casino play. On the other hand you have another form of Baccarat called Chemin De Fer which is generally associated with James Bond.

How Do You Play Baccarat In Casinos?

It is quite easy actually to learn how to play Punto Banco Baccarat, all a player needs to know is: bet on the banker! This is all that is truly necessary to play Punto Banco Baccarat. The rules of Punto Banco Baccarat are actually quite complex and knowing them by heart won’t give you any better chances of winning. The simple instruction of “bet on the banker” should be very helpful. However, knowing all the rules will surely make the game much more exciting.

A game of Baccarat starts off with a round of bets. Players will decide whether to bet on Banker, Player or Tie. If a player wins by betting on Banker, he will be paid even money minus a 5% commission. However, if the player puts his bets on Player, he wins even money without any commission. Winning a Tie bet will reward you a payout of 8 to 1 and in some casinos 9 to 1.

After all bets are placed, the Banker and Player positions are dealt two cards each face down. The Player gets dealt the first card then the Banker and back and forth. Once that is done, they both reveal their cards and add them up. You subtract the added sum by any tens digit and you get the score of the hand. For example, the Player has a 6 and a 9, the added sum is 15 minus the ten gives this hand a score of 5.

Once the scores are known, the next move depends entirely on the totals. If the Banker or the Player receives a 8 or 9, they both must stand. However, if the player’s score is between 0 and 5, the player hits to get another card. Players stand on a 6 or 7.

On the other hand, the Banker’s action are a bit more complex. The Banker’s next actions depend on whether the player hits or not, what card was dealt, and the Banker’s score. If the Player decides not to hit, the Banker hits if his score is from 0 to 5, otherwise he would stand. If the Player decides to hit, the actions of the Banker will then depend on which card was drawn.

Once the Player drew his card, if a 2 or 3 came out, the Banker hits on a score of 0 to 4. If the Player drew a 4 or 5, the Banker will then hit on a score of 0 to 5. If the Player drew a 6 or 7, the Banker will then hit on a score of 0 to 6. If the Player drew a 8, the Banker will then hit on a 0 to 2 score. If the Player drew a 9, 10, face, Ace, the Banker will then hit on a score of 0 to 3. If the Banker doesn’t find the necessity of drawing a card, he may stand.

Once all draws have been made, the finals scores are compared and the position with the highest amount of points wins. All the bets that were on that position win. In case of a Tie, all Tie bets are paid and the other bets continue playing.

Best Strategy For Punto Banco Baccarat

The best strategy in Punto Banco Baccarat is to always bet for the Banker. This won’t guarantee that you win but it could help decrease your losses.

The first question that comes up is “How can a bet with commission be better than one without any?”. Well the answer is quite simple and it’s that the Banker has way better odds of winning than the Player.

The fact is that the Banker has 45.8597% chances of winning, while the Player has 44.6247 chances of winning. A Tie bet has about 9.5156% chances of winning, which is why most people don’t even bother betting on it and some casinos don’t offer the option of a Tie.
