Ray Bitar Freed On $2.5 Million Bail

Jul 10, 2023 // Categories: Latest Gambling & Casino News.

After giving himself in to the American authorities of New York last week, Ray Bitar, the CEO of the world known online poker website, Full Tilt Poker, has been released after paying a $2.5 million bail. This is a bail price that he is not going to forget anytime soon.

Charge Held Against Him

Ray Bitar has seen himself accused of multiple counts that include violating the UIGEA, money laundering, and operating an illegal gambling business. With these charges pressed against him, he had no choice but to fly to New York from Dublin. Moments after arriving, he was detained by authorities and brought infront of the prosecutors representing the United-States District Court for judgement.

A recent press release report stated that with all of the charges pressed against Ray Bitar, he is facing a maximum sentence of 145 years in jail. This will be enough to get him locked up for the rest of his life. The Judge Paul Engelmayer complied with the CEO of Full Tilt Poker by granting him bail after he payed a total of $2.5 million. He did so because he considered the fact that Bitar is an American citizen and that he flew back in a manly gesture to face his judgement.
